Oct. 1st, 2025 11:15 amIllyana's backstory deals with themes of childhood sexual and physical abuse. While this is never explicitly stated on page, it has been confirmed by multiple writers and is heavily implied in many of her appearances.
Illyana is open about the fact that she was in Limbo/raised by a demon/had her soul fragmented, but almost never talks about the CSA aspects. This will likely never come up in threads except with close CR under very specific circumstances. Even then, due to Illyana's personality, she won't go into detail.
The X-Men comics in general also tackle themes of oppression and genocide, and many storylines deal with repeated and violent death, torture, imprisonment, PTSD and trauma, and so on.
